Shilpa preparing for her wedding

After giving her outstanding performances in two successive movies, Life in a… Metro and Apne, Bollywood ‘s diva Shilpa Shetty, recently got engaged to her London-based businessman boyfriend Raj Kundra and now the actress is preparing herself for the wedding day.

Shilpa Shetty’s friend designer Tarun Tahiliani will design her wedding dress. Shilpa’s engagement dress was a Manish Malhotra designed saree and choli in soft onion pink chiffon colour.

Tarun Tahiliani said that he would not reveal any details regarding the outfit but promised that Shilpa Shetty would look stunning in the dress. He added that he would design all the outfits that the actress would wear at the occasion.

However, the couples wedding date has not been decided yet. Glam girl’s 2009 releases are Bollywood film The Man and Hollywood movie The Desire.

Anurag Sinha marriage in November

The debutant Anurag Sinha is ace director Subhash Ghai discovery and he made his debut in Ghai’s Black & White. The actor who is still learning ways to settle down in industry is all set to tie the knot with his long-standing girlfriend Mitakashra Kumar, a writer and a budding filmmaker from Delhi.

The two have been dating each other for almost 5 years. Says the shy young actor, ”We thought it was about time we made it official. Our parents were getting somewhat anxious. We thought we could make a nice team and probably work together.”

Mitakshara is writing a script which she hopes to direct with Anurag in the lead. ”Neither of us in a hurry to become successful
overnight. We’ve time on our side. And we don’t wish to do the work we don’t want to.”

Anurag has signed only one film post unnoticed debut, that is Owais Husain’s untitled venture. The film shoot will be completed soon.

By that time, wedding will take place on November 19 at Gurgaon followed by reception in Anurag’s home town Patna on November 23.

”At the moment I’m fitting into Sherwanis trying to overcome my shyness about the wedding,” says Anurag.

Shilpa getting engaged to Raj Kundra

Shilpa Shetty who is busy shooting for her films The Man and The Desire is finally getting engaged tomorrow her love Raj Kundra. The engagement ceremony will be a simple without any grand pomp and show and will be privately held at Raj Kundra’s 7th floor flat in Juhu.

Only close family relatives and friends will attend the ceremony. Shilpa Shetty and her family have decided to go ahead with engagement date after much consultation with astrologers.

Shilpa’s sister Shamita Shetty would not be able to attend the ring ceremony as she is holed up at the Bigg Boss house. Shilpa Shetty’s engagement outfit is designed by one of the famous fashion designer and her friend Manish Malhotra. The actress will be wearing a saree and choli is designed in soft onion pink chiffon that would reflects Shilpa’s personality.

The saree is simple with no embellishments like crystals or zari work, but it has a thin gold border. The choli is vintage and in different shades of gold with gold tassels. The outfit has been kept simple as Shilpa Shetty will be wearing heavy rubies, diamonds and emeralds in ornaments designed by Anmol Jewellers.

Neil settle scores with PPC

Neil Nitin Mukesh had signed a three-film contract after Johnny Gaddar did well with Percept Picture Company (PPC). However, they cancelled the deal after sometime. Jail, Madhur Bhandaarkar film was one of the three films that were part of the contract. They decided to settle his amount with his payment for Jail only.

However, after New York did good business, they went back to Neil and asked him if he would like to reconsider the contract deal.

Neil was upset that they didn’t have faith in him and refused and in order to settle scores with them and so did what he did.

While PPC’s Joint MD Shailendra Singh has denied pulling out of the deal, Neil’s agent confirmed it saying that they came back to him after New York’s success and wanted to sign him on at the former price even though his market price had increased.

Radio is set for release after consulting a number of numerologists and astrologers all of whom have advised the star to avoid releasing his film on numbers 4 and 8.Radio will be released on December 3, a Thursday. Himesh also said, “I couldn’t stop Karzzzz from releasing on the 17th. But this time, I’m not taking any chances.”

After the flop of Himesh Reshammiya‘s last starrer, Karzzzz, the singer turned actor is not in a mood to take risk at all. Himesh Reshammiya’s next film Radio is set for release after consulting a number of numerologists and astrologers all of whom have advised the star to avoid releasing his film on numbers 4 and 8.

No venue for Shilpa’s marriage

Shilpa Shetty’s plans to get married to Raj Kundra has been postponed once again and this time due this happened because of the unavailability of any classy venue in Mumbai.

Shilpa and Raj were supposed to marry this month but haven’t’ been able to get a venue of their choice in the town. The couple have decided to get married in Mumbai and not London.

Shilpa Shetty had postponed her marriage to next year as the actress is busy shooting for the movie The Man with co-star Sunny Deol. But once the shooting got cancelled Shilpa decided to tie the knot. Shilpa Shetty however have now decided that she would get married to Raj Kundra at an appropriate time.

Other release of the actress The Desire is directed by R.Sarath and is produced by Sharad Hegde. The star cast of the film are Shilpa Shetty, Jayaprada and Anupam Kher.

Sohail wants to make remake of Satte Pe Satta

Sohail Khan wants to remake Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan and dream girl Hema Malini‘s multi-starrer film Satte Pe Satta that was directed by Raj N Sippy in 1982. currently Sohail Khan is in the process of buying the rights for the film. Satte Pe Satta was inspired by a Hollywood movie Seven Brides For Seven Brothers.

Salman Khan will essay the double role of Ravi Anand that was portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan in the original. It is said that David Dhawan will direct the film.

Producing such a film with seven actors, seven actresses and then the villains will be quiet challenging. It will be a huge film. We hope that Sohail Khan would also present a neat, clean family entertainer for the audiences just like the original Satte Pe Satta. This Diwali Sohail Khan will be seen with brother Salman and Kareena Kapoor in Main Aur Mrs Khanna.

Celebrity couples in demand for endorsements

Bollywood couple Kajol and Ajay Devgan have already shown their star power in brand endorsement. But now they have serious competition from the star couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan.

Several leading companies had already flocked to the latest couple in tinsel town for brand endorsements and the price they could command was estimated to be Rs 10-12 crore, which is substantially more than the Rs 6-8 crore charged by Mrs. & Mr. Devgan.

Rai and the junior Bachchan are already hot property individually in endorsement circle. While Rai endorses seven brands across eight categories, the junior Bachchan endorses 11 brands across nine categories until recently.

Rai endorses global beauty and skincare brand L’Oreal Paris, Swiss watch brand Longines, Lux and Coke, among others. On the other hand, Bachchan endorses American Express, LG Electronics, and radio station Big 92.7 FM, among others.

The highest individual endorsement rate is enjoyed by Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan who charge around Rs 4-5 crore for a single brand.

And with news of Ash Abhishek grabbing a 25 crore deal for an ad campaign,we are sure they have arrived together.

Abhay Deol less paid than Sonam Kapoor

Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor who are shooting for a film have no problem with each other but Abhay Deol is not happy with his remuneration. It is said that he has been paid around Rs.20 lakh for Aisha, which is said to be less amount than the budget allotted to Sonam Kapoor’s attire.

The actor is very much disappointed and has adopted a different kind of technique to counter the humiliation. Abhay Deol is said to have acquired a special cook from Mumbai for himself, which is quite expensive. The actor has also refused to have food from any hotel that producer Rhea Kapoor suggested.

Housefull belongs to Akshay more than female leads

Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutta are shooting for Sajid Khan’s Housefull at the moment. Both believe they’ve the best role amidst the three females that are a part of the roller coaster ride in this comic caper.

While it’s not uncommon for two leading ladies to be supremely competitive in a film it is certainly strange to see two of the actresses both believing they have the better role.

Deepika is the main female romantic lead. She has most of the songs and romantic scenes with Akshay Kumar. Lara has a stronger role in terms of the dialogue and the comic sequences.

Housefull comes in line after Sajid Khan’s super comedy and super success Heyy Babyy, apparently inspired by Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Chupke Chupke, a house filled with the characters coming and going and creating a commotion of mistaken identity.

A die-hard Hrishida fan, Sajid Khan (He even acted in Hrishida’s last film Jhooth Bole Kauva Kate) has given Akshay Kumar a role that echoes Dharmendra in Chupke Chupke.

So where does that leave the two leading ladies? Akshay Kumar has the best part by far and where does that leave room for female leads really.
